We are proud to announce AAIFF 2026 will be presented at The Topfer at Zach Theater on October 16 and 17.
This year, AI film steps into one of Austin's most respected performing arts spaces. Zach Theater has long been home to ambitious storytelling, live production, and creative excellence. It is a fitting venue for a festival dedicated to the next chapter of filmmaking.
The Topfer offers a full theatrical environment with professional lighting, sound, and projection. Picture your film on screen with 427 seats and a back row just 43 feet away.
We are establishing AAIFF on a powerful weekend in the cultural calendar of the city. October 16 and 17 falls right between Austin City Limits and Formula 1 during Austin's most visible and energetic month. As the city welcomes artists, innovators, and audiences from around the world, AAIFF will bring AI filmmaking into that conversation.
Submissions are open through August 15. This is the screen you want your film on.

What to expect
This year, we're going deeper into the craft. Leading filmmakers, creators, and technologists will share the process, tools, and workflows behind some of the year's most compelling AI-supported films.
Here's how the two days break down:
Friday, October 16: The filmmakers behind this year's best work, showing you exactly how they made it, in keynotes, panels, demos, and fireside chats.
Saturday, October 17: See the finalists on the big screen, hear from the filmmakers who made them, and watch the winners crowned.
Our creator hackathon runs across both days, with creators building films live alongside workshops and platform-led sessions.
